Chapter 100: A Man Protecting Her
"You are not leaving?"
"..." Sophia’s smile stiffened when Alex only passed her one indifferent glance and then looked at the door again. She did not qualify to talk to him. Her fury filled her heart again. She had a stomach full of anger already by losing and now a child was throwing her a tantrum.
But she did not say anything. She just looked at his face again and sighed like a disappointed elder and left from there. She did not go to meet Penny but left in her car.
Nora was the next to come out. Sobs filled the hall when the door was opened again. Alex stiffened but when he noticed Nora standing there, he just frowned.
"Why are you here?" Nora was not expecting him to wait for her. If it had been Victor she would have still understood.
"We had a debt." he looked at her wounds. "Now it is settled."
With that he turned to leave. Nora rolled her eyes. He had only stood there and did nothing to help her. Yet he said that he was even with her now. When Nora returned to the dorm, only Penny was there. She was packing her luggage. When Penny heard the door opening, she stiffened for a second, but did not turn back. Even when she was alone in the room with Nora, she did not turn to her or talk to her as if she could not see her. But her packing speed increased.
She had already packed her suitcases, only a small bag was left which she finished hurriedly and left the room.
"Tch! Who would have thought that one day you would be afraid of me so much?" The voice was lazy but there was a touch of pleasure in it. Penny knew it too well. She paused at the door, her hands tightening at the knob. How she wanted to return and slap Nora like always. She wanted to remind Nora that she was nothing but an insect which could be crushed by her any moment. But she could not ignore the warning her mother had left.
Gritting her teeth, she replied, "you are going too far Nora. just you wait! You will soon fall from the grace of Alex. and then I will see how you would beg me." Penny was sure it was Alex who had introduced her to Mr West. he was helping her in making contacts. That man was dangerous but so powerful that she could not go against him.
But that did not mean she could not bring to her side. What Nora could offer, she could offer too.
