Chapter 70: Failed And Embarassed.
Two girls walked forward with the tray of lunch in their hands. They glared at the girls spouting nonsense. "We are all classmates, we should not show our dirty laundry in public. Whatever happened in the class could only be discussed in private." she lectured the two girls with a deep frown.
The girls scowled at him, but they did not have words to justify their action. With a glare, they left for their table and started eating their lunch. They were still talking to each other but their voices were much slower and people sitting at other tables could not hear them.
The two girls nodded in satisfaction and then went to Nora’s table.
"Hey Nora, why are you sitting alone? Let us accompany you." the girl smiled sweetly at her. Her smile could have won her many hearts. Especially Nora since she believed she had saved Nora from nasty rumors just now.
"I am afraid it would not be a good idea." but to her surprise, Nora didn’t even raise her head to greet them. No thank you or anything, she just refused them. What an insult. Her face went red and purple instantly.
"Why not? We are all classmates, we should show unity to each other." she insisted and sat down. The other girl stared at both of them but she took the seat on the left and sat down.
"We are here to make friends. So much has happened recently. We were worried that you would be overwhelmed. And now that you are injured, you need friends by your side to take care of you." the girl continued with a smile. She had convinced her friends to join her and so many people were looking at them. There was no way she would give up on her act just because Nora had decided to be uncooperative.
Nora sipped the juice and smiled. The way she looked at them with those dark eyes, the girl paused for a second. She felt like Nora knew their little game. The look of disdain horrified her for a second.
But no! There was no way that Nora would know. She must be wary because of recent events. As long as she could win her trust there for a second. The girl forced a bigger smile on her face.
"It must be painful right? I can’t even imagine how you are able to sit and write exams with only one hand." the girl continued with a sigh.
By now many had stopped looking at them and enjoying their lunch. But a few eyes were still on Nora. not many knew about her existence before. But now she was in the forums almost every day or one event or other. They were curious and those bandages only flamed that curiosity.
Nora did not move, but she noticed the stares she was receiving a long time ago and this girl was here for no good. She stood up. "I am done, you can continue your meal." she replied in a blank voice as she stood up but just then, the girl extended her leg and smiled while looking at the girl on her left.
