Chapter 64: A Girl With No Name.
"I.. what are you saying! She did not go with me." Penny glared at Lisa and held her hand with force.
Lisa grimaced and frowned at the pressure penny had added.
"Let go! Penny, you are hurting me." She pushed Penny away with a bit of force. Linda walked closer and they both started whispering to each other.
Penny glared at her friends. Those middle class foolish girls. She had spent weeks convincing them that they were friends and that’s how they were paying her!
"You are taking her side. She must have promised you something more precious than the purse I have given you, Lisa. or the dress I have gifted you on your birthday Linda. You both are just opportunistic girls since your parents do not earn as much as us." Penny spat in a rage. "Even so, how can you lie so blatantly. I can sue you for defamation." her eyes turned menacing as she looked at both of them.
The girls had never thought that the gifts would be accused of being bribes. They blinked and looked at Penny with shock and fright.
"I do not have a single dollar to pay my fees. How could I give them anything? Didn’t uncle refuse to pay me when the doctor did not take the case against aunt back. I have not been given monthly expenditure since then." Nora sniffled and rubbed her eyes. Yet she walked closer to Lisa to make sure that she was fine.
By now a large crowd had been collected around the group. Most of them were whispering to each other and passing judgements. Their eyes looked at both Penny and Nora with a condescending gaze.
"It is because you lied! You have been lying from the start. We have warned you so many times yet you do not listen. Even at this moment you are lying that I injured you when I was with.." Penny stopped and bit her lips. She did not want others to know that she was with Benrad. Not when the latter had not confirmed anything about their relationship.
