Chapter 38: Such A Caring Family
"Impossible," Penny muttered at once. "My friends had given that exam and I remember her resting at home that day." She did not specify that she had asked Nora to complete her assignments that day. But she was not mistaken, Nora was at home that morning.
Sophia looked at Nora and then at her daughter. A devious glint crossed her eyes.
"No, if Nora is sure then I am going to support her. As her family it is our responsibility that we believe in her first." She gave a meaningful look to her daughter but Penny only felt indignant.
It must be related to Benard. Why was her mother supporting Nora so much when she could win against Benard too?
Nora smiled, her eyes looked extraordinarily bright, and her facial features seemed elegant and glamorous. "Then how much time do you think it would take principal sir? I am sure you and everyone else must be busy giving it a whole day. How about we return here when the reports come?"
Oh! She was trying to buy time!
Penny couldn’t stand her anymore. She sneered. Abruptly, she rushed towards Nora and screamed, "damn it. I can even tell you were in my room writing math assignments that day. Why do we need time to prove your lies? You are a wicked girl. Tell me did you steal from my house, you leech to make this fake document. You.."
"Slap!" a penny was cut in between. Her eyes widened and her face flew back to her hands. She looked at her mother with a horrified gaze full of disbelief.
The sound of the hard slap still rang in her ears.
