Apocalyse: Marked by Chaos

Chapter 66 - 65 No Other Choice

Olivia sat stiffly on a worn out couch in the other room, her heart still racing from what had just happened.

The room was filled with silence, a stark contrast to the chaos she had just left behind. Her fingers drummed anxiously on her knee as she stared at the wall, trying, really trying not to think about what she had just seen.

’I can never unsee that...’

She groaned, rubbing her face, the embarrassment was still fresh. In the silence, every rustling sound from the other room made her stomach twist tighter. She knew she had messed up badly.

A few minutes later, Abigail emerged, arms folded across her chest. She had an unimpressed scowl on her face. Olivia immediately sat up straighter, trying to gauge her reaction.

But Abigail didn’t speak. She just stared, her gaze piercing through Olivia’s frame.

"...I’m sorry," Olivia blurted out. "I really, really didn’t mean to ruin your... uh... moment." She cleared her throat. "And I didn’t mean to knock your boyfriend out, either. It was... an accident?"

Abigail arched a brow, crossing her arms tighter. "An accident?" she repeated. "You knocked him unconscious... with a vase he gifted me."

Olivia winced. "...Yeah."

Silence stretched between them.

Abigail exhaled sharply, shaking her head. "Do you even realize how hard it is to find a man in this school who’s not an absolute trash pile? And you..." She pointed a finger at Olivia accusingly. "...you storm in like some crazed lunatic and nearly kill him?"
