Chapter 47 Just Another Terrible Morning
Olivia ran down the hallway, her breath ragged, her heart hammering in her chest. The memory of Klaus, blood dripping from his nose, his furious yet amused gaze burning into her, replayed in her mind. She would be as good as dead if she was caught by him.
She made it to her room, then she gently slamming the door shut behind her. She pressed her back against the door, breathing heavily. Her gaze staring at her roommates who were asleep.
"What the hell was that?" she muttered, her fingers unconsciously clenching into fists.
She could still feel the heat of his breath, the way he had trapped her, the way he made her feel small yet challenged her at the same time. A shiver ran down her spine—not from fear, but from something else she refused to name.
She shook her head aggressively. "No. Not happening. He's just messing with me."
With a frustrated sigh, she tiptoed into bed, hoping she wouldn't wake up any of her roommates. As the chill of the bed welcomed her, her mind drifting away, she hoped the sleep would wipe away the lingering sensation of Klaus's presence.
The morning was crisp, but Olivia's mood was anything but fresh. She had spent the night tossing and turning, haunted by confusing emotions and even more confusing fragments of forgotten memories.
By the time she woke up, her roommates had already left the class. This was the best gift of the day, she wasn't ready for an interrogation.
Dressed in the academy's uniform, a black t-shirt and dark navy trousers— she wondered why they had to wear something like this, but she didn't dwell on it as she proceeded to tie her hair into a messy bun and grabbed her bag.
She had two goals today:
No 1. Avoid Alexa and Klaus at all costs. She wasn't ready for another confrontation.
