Vernon knew he was impulsive when he implemented that plan. Now he had to face the consequences of his actions.
When he looked at Helena, he saw her face turn dark.
He blinked his eyes. On one hand, he felt bad for her. But on the other hand, he felt he should use this matter to make her divorce him.
In a second, he saw Helena’s expression turned back to normal.
She sighed and smiled as she looked at Vernon and then at Grace.
Vernon frowned. What was she smiling about?
He could hear her inner voice, [Uff this stupid man. I don’t know what he was thinking when doing all that. Anyway, I should take care of him. Otherwise, he wouldn’t even know how the others would count his bones.]
"..." (Huh? What does she mean by that? Also, she is caring about me? Even after I did such a thing to her in front of everyone?)
He couldn’t believe his ears at all. She called him a stupid man, yes. However, with how she continued her monologue, it sounded more like she was doting on him than scolding him.
