Chapter 16: Shopping? No!
Once Father Ford left the room, Helena calmed down. She packed her mother's urn and carefully hid it away. She finished a few touch-ups before she joined the banquet.
She held onto Vernon's arm and met all the guests one by one calmly with a smile.
But Vernon could sense that something had gone very bad between her and her father. But he did not ask her anything as he had already understood that she wouldn't tell him even if he asked.
Just like that, the wedding and the reception came to an end.
As the newlywed couple, Vernon and Helena were sent to the honeymoon suite in the hotel on the topmost floor.
The rest of the family members had left and gave the couple their space.
But as soon as the 'newlywed couple' entered the 'honeymoon' suite, they did not look at each other at all.
They calmly went to the bathroom one after another to freshen up and went to bed to sleep, saying they were too tired.
The night ended calmly with no ripples anywhere.
After waking up, the couple had breakfast.
