My Cold-Hearted Husband Wants Me Back

Chapter 125: The Past That Was Complicated

Lunara and Eryx were sitting at the dining table, quietly finishing their dinner. The clinking of cutlery echoed in the large hall, but neither seemed to mind the silence.

The sound of approaching footsteps drew their attention.

Regina walked in, gently guiding Naomi by the arm. Naomi looked better than she had days ago, her cheeks less pale, but the usual spark in her eyes was missing. She walked slowly, like her mind was somewhere else.

"She’s barely eaten all day," Regina said softly, half guiding, half nudging Naomi toward a chair. "Thought maybe some company would help."

"I’m not a child," Naomi muttered, but her voice was too weak to carry any real bite.

Eryx gave a small chuckle and pushed a plate toward her. "Then stop acting like one and sit down."

Naomi rolled her eyes faintly but dropped into the chair next to Lunara without protest.

Lunara offered a small smile and scooped food onto Naomi’s plate. "How are you today?"

Naomi gave her a thin, straight smile. "Hmm, getting better."

"Really?" Lunara’s face brightened or at least, she tried to make it look that way. "Then maybe we can go shopping tomorrow? I miss going out with you."

Naomi twirled her fork for a second, as if thinking. Then she gave a soft shrug. "Maybe."
