Chapter 92: The Peace Ended
A gentle kiss landed on Lunara’s forehead. She slowly opened her eyes and saw Eryx’s face, just a few inches away.
"Morning..." he said with a soft smile.
"Morning," she replied sleepily.
He brushed a few strands of hair away from her face. "Go back to sleep for a bit. I’m heading to work now." He paused, looking at her like he didn’t really want to leave. "And don’t go out today, okay? If you need anything, just tell me. I’ll get it for you. Just stay in until things calm down."
Lunara gave him a small smile and nodded. "Okay."
Eryx leaned down and kissed her forehead again. "I’ll be back soon," he said, then quietly left the room.
She lay there for a while, listening to the silence. It was peaceful, but her mind kept drifting back to everything that had happened lately. Eventually, she got up and walked to the next room to check on Mila. It had become part of her daily routine now, ever since the incident last week.
For the past few days, she had stayed home, not stepping outside even once. Eryx had been extra cautious, always reminding her to stay in for her own safety. And she listened, partly because she understood, and partly because a part of her just didn’t feel ready to face the outside world yet.
Mila was already awake, sitting in bed with her stuffed rabbit, talking to it in a soft voice. When she saw Lunara at the door, her face lit up.
