Chapter 57: He Is Worried
The quiet hum of the hospital filled the room as Lunara rested against the pillow. Naomi sat beside her, scrolling through her phone, waiting.
Then, the sound of hurried footsteps echoed in the hallway. Naomi barely had time to react before the door swung open, revealing Eryx, who panic was all over his face.
His usual composed demeanor was gone and his sharp eyes scanned the room, landing immediately on Lunara.
"What happened?" His voice was tight and a bit shaky, but Naomi could tell he was barely holding back his emotions.
She leaned back in her chair. "A small head injury. The doctor said—"
But Eryx wasn’t listening. He took a step closer to the bed, his gaze locked onto Lunara’s bandaged temple. His jaw clenched. "How did this happen?"
Naomi sighed. "Look, it’s a long story, but the important thing is she’s okay. She just fell asleep a little while ago."
Eryx ignored her again. He crouched slightly, resting his palm gently against Lunara’s arm as if to reassure himself she was really there. His brows furrowed. "She didn’t wake up after passing out?"
"She didn’t pass out, she was just exhausted," Naomi emphasized. "The doctor said it’s normal. You’re acting like she’s on her deathbed."
Eryx exhaled sharply but didn’t argue. Instead, he stayed quiet, watching Lunara’s sleeping face. For a long moment, he just stood there, his hand lingering on the edge of the bed.
Naomi tilted her head. "Are you seriously worried?"
