Chapter 56: It Was Not A Scratch
Naomi tapped her foot impatiently as she held her phone to her ear. The call rang, but there was no answer. She tried again. Still nothing.
"Tsk. He must be in a meeting," Naomi muttered, lowering her phone. She turned back to Eloise with a sharp glare. "But don’t think that means you’re off the hook."
Eloise clutched her handbag tightly. "I told you, my father gave me this card! Stop making a scene!"
Naomi took a step forward. "Then let me see it again."
"No!" Eloise yanked her bag away.
That was enough for Naomi. Without hesitation, she reached for the purse, grabbing at the strap. "Hand it over!"
"Let go!" Eloise shrieked, twisting away. They struggled for control, the boutique staff and a few nearby shoppers watching in shock.
Lunara, who saw the chaotic scene, held onto Naomi’s arm, "Naomi, everyone is watching."
Naomi huffed but didn’t loosen her grip. "I don’t care. She’s holding onto something that doesn’t belong to her."
Eloise’s face twisted in frustration. "I said let go!" She gave a sudden, forceful tug, trying to wrench her handbag away.
The unexpected force made Naomi stagger slightly, and in the middle of it all, Lunara, who had been standing too close, lost her balance. Her shoulder hit the edge of a display rack before her temple collided with the sharp corner. A sharp sting spread through her skull, and a warm trickle of blood ran down her skin.
