Eloise’s eyes shimmered with excitement the moment she opened the door. Just moments ago, they were shocked by the news of Gideon’s arrest, and now, Eryx Cyrus Grantham was standing right in front of their house.

"Mom!" she shouted, waving her hands excitedly as she called for Mira. Then, turning back to Eryx, who stood coldly at the door, she cleared her throat. "Ahem... I didn’t know you would come here to find me."

Eryx immediately raised his hand, stopping her before she could say anything more. "I’m looking for Lunara," he said bluntly.

"Oh, what’s with her?" She blinked repeatedly, thinking she would look cute doing it.

Then Mira suddenly appeared from the hallway, surprised to see Eryx standing at their door. "Oh my, Mr. Grantham in our humble home?" she mused, a playful smile on her lips. "To what do we owe the honor?"

Eryx didn’t entertain the small talk. "Is Lunara here?"

Eloise perked up, her excitement still intact. "Why? Did something happen? Are you—"

Eryx raised a hand, again, cutting her off. "Just answer me."

Mira and Eloise exchanged glances before Mira shrugged. "She hasn’t been here."
