Chapter 10: A Month
Gideon stormed through the hospital hallway, his face dark with frustration. He had searched every corner, but Lunara was nowhere to be found. His hands clenched into fists. If Old Man Vaughn found out he failed, things would only get worse.
Lost in his thoughts, he didn't see the man walking toward him.
They collided.
"What are your eyes for?" Gideon snapped, irritated by the unexpected collision. But the moment his gaze met the stranger's, his words faltered.
The man in front of him was tall, exuding an intimidating aura that seemed to fill the space. His sharp, cold eyes locked onto Gideon's with an unsettling calm. He knew right away that this man was not on the same level with him.
Eryx didn't say a word. He simply stood there, his presence enough to make Gideon feel like he was being scrutinized from every angle. The tension in the air grew thick.
Gideon felt an unease in his gut, something he couldn't shake off. He wasn't sure who this man was, but the way he carried himself, his silent confidence, his overwhelming presence, all of it made him nervous.
"Now... can you see where my eyes are?" Eryx's voice was low, cutting through the tension like a knife.
Gideon tried to hide his growing discomfort but couldn't escape the weight of Eryx's gaze. The man's silent threat lingered in the air, pressing down on him.
