Mr Bodyguard, Protect Your Heart!

Dove stood up, smiled at them before saying, "Hello, Step Mom. Hello Noah." Truth to be said, neither Noah nor Freya was ready for this. In fact, for Freya everything that was happening from the last some ten to fifteen minutes, it was enough shocks she have had for a while. She did not even know anything, and she was already getting so many surprises. And Noah, he knew that Dove would be arriving today, with her son. And she was taking over and joining the company from tomorrow, he knew it. In fact, he himself has come here because of her.

Yet, he was not any less shocked. Noah was equally shocked as his mother. Why? Well, it was because firstly, they did not think that Dove would even be telling about them to her son. And even if she did, they did not at all expect her to just now stand up on her own and greet them with a smile. Dove, she disliked them so much, so much so, that she wouldn’t even be talking to them without anything of absolute necessity. And she would at times make sure that they know it. Especially towards Noah. But that seems changed.

Noah and Freya, they did not answer. And both stood at their places, in as short trance, while Dove walked forward towards them. With the same smile on her lips, she said, "How are you both doing? I am hoping that you are doing well." Her eyes fell on Freya and she addressed her first, "Step Mom, I heard that you got diagnosed with diabetes, and high blood pressure. Are you controlling that? I have got some vitamins and syrups, that might help you."

"Eh?" Before she knew, Freya in her already confused state questioned, before the question she understood and she nodded her head, and said, "U- um. Yes. I have been keeping my diet under regulation and taking medicines." She answered. Her tone was low and gentle. The little communication just happened, both of them would perhaps realise that it has never occurred in a very, very long while among both of them. So long that none of them even remembered if they even talked like this.

But the one thing that Freya was the most astonished was that, Dove was keeping tracks about her health! And she even brought her something regarding her health. But the thing that made Freya feel guilty about the most was that, Dove at least knew so much about her while she did not used to leave her. While she? She did not even know what gender her baby was, or when did she even give birth!

This realisation made Freya want to hide her face from embarrassment. But as Dove was still talking to her, she smiled at her and slowly nodded her head, "t- Thank you."

Dove, she wasn’t aware of the inner turmoil in Freya’s mind, she still had that smile on her face, and then turned towards Noah, and spoke, "And Mr Noah Henley. Very, very congratulations for you being one of the directors of the board."

Noah who was staring at Dove will all his heart, his heart skipped a beat when Dove spoke to him directly, and in that polite tone, without the sharp edge in her voice, that she would always have in the past. Noah never knew that it was possible for them to talk like this. But here they were. He smiled back at Dove and said, "Thank you. And I am very eagerly looking forward to look under CEO Dove Sterling."
