Chapter 48: A LETTER
He was in love with her.
So when Noah realised what he was feeling towards that, he started maintaining distance from her, knowing it was wrong. She and the world, after all, saw them as siblings. He also would not interfere even when she would be in grave trouble.
When Dove just started her junior high school, a few boys had been bullying her. He was in his first year of senior high school. And had happened to see that. Dove had called for him, but he had just averted his gaze from her and walked away. Noah knew that the more he would be good to her, the more she would she remain close to him, and the more he would be unable to control his feelings. So, if she just started hating him, and staying away from him, then maybe her hatred would stop the highly increasing feelings for her in his heart.
Noah knew that his actions in recent days had been hurting to Dove. But he what he had not imagined that day that she would hate him forever after that day. Apparently, when those boys saw that Noah had just ignored Dove simply, and had increased their guts. They bullied Dove very badly, and though, Dove who tried her best to hold herself strong, couldn’t help but break. The one she had faith on, had just left her be on her own. Since that day, Dove thrived to be stronger, because if someday she was bullied by someone again, she could stand for herself. As she learnt that, there was no one who would stand and be there for her.
But what did not know that, Noah had also not let them go who had bullied her. He had found each one of them and given them a good beating. But Dove did not know that.
And after that day, Dove had not talked to Noah, nor had she even tried to approach him. That was what he wanted in the first place, but still that broke his heart in so many pieces and in such ways that he had never even imagined.
She stopped going to him for things that she would go for. In stead, if she really needed help with something she would go to Roan. And that would boil his blood. Though, Noah knew that Dove did not really like Roan and had not romantic feelings for him involved. Yet, it still bothered him to a large extent. Because he knew that Roan, that guy liked her a lot, and had been making efforts to impress her.
But at last, everything stopped for him, except for his feelings for Dove. Till today, he could not end the feelings he had for her in his heart. And that was also the reason why he had asked Mr Sterling and pleaded him to annul the adoption. Though he had not told him about his feelings for his daughter, how could he?! Because, with the surname that he carried, he felt unexplainable guilt of having those feelings in his heart.
When Dove had broken off the engagement, Noah couldn’t explain how happy he had been. Though, initially it had bothered him about her sleeping with abother man, but then he just believed that it was a façade create by her own. After all, Dove’s values were high enough to not even let her fiancé touch her, least just any man.
