Chapter 36: OOPS! WRONG REACTION!
"What a wonderful time I had after a long time!" Senior Sterling said with a cheerful smile. Senior Sterling, Dante and Calix had just a while ago finished their lunch, as Senior Sterling invited them for a lunch, and said that he wouldn’t let them go without having lunch.
Dante also readily agreed since it would buy him more time to see Dove, and perhaps, have lunch together too. But alas! Dove had still not returned. And that made Dante wondered with whom she was with right now! Was she with that little fiancé of hers?! Dante thought as his expressions darkened.
He had heard from Calix, how that fiancé of hers had barged into the room that night. But they soon went away from the room, doing nothing. He had most probably scared him away, Dante thought. But did she go to ask him for forgiveness and return to him? Dante wondered not liking the idea.
He wanted to know who she was with, but having Senior Sterling with him right now, he couldn’t even do anything to find out. That is why, he continued to feel all kind of emotions sitting there.
"What are wondering about , young man?" Senior Sterling averted his attention back on Dante after his little chat with Calix. Dante who was in his own world of thoughts blurted out, "Dove?"
"..?" Senior Sterling blinked.
"..." and Calix pressed his lips together in a straight line. ’Boss, it is just a day. And you are already going crazy?’
Dante, who hadn’t even thought before speaking was now rendered speechless himself. Cough* Cough* Awkward. He cleared his throat and said, "Um, Grandpa. That did you not mention once that Dove was engaged to someone? What about that now?"
Senior Sterling raised his brows on hearing him ask that and said with something layering his words, "Oh, you remembered that too?" And Dante internally bit his cheeks. Meanwhile, Calix who looked at them and heard everything quietly sighed. Boss, can you please not make yourself anymore obvious! He grumbled in his head.
Senior Sterling stared at Dante with a knowing glint in his eyes and he shook his head. "That engagement is broken."
