Chapter 10 - 010 Jade Space
It seems I do still have a Space on me, but where could it be? That's right, the birthmark! Some Spaces use birthmarks as their carriers. Excited, Tian Sisi continued to search her body, and finally found a faint mark on the inside of her wrist, where she wore her bracelet. The pattern matched the one on the bracelet, which was why Tian Sisi had not been able to find it for so long.
Tian Sisi touched the mark on her wrist, and in a blur of vision, she found herself in a strange place—a courtyard about half an acre in size. Apart from a well, the yard was filled with bizarrely shaped trees. The trees were not tall, about the height of a person, and had no leaves. Yet, they bore clusters and clusters of fruit, the size of pearls, round and plump like grapes, with colors ranging from deep to light: red, green, purple, black. The yard was filled with this one type of tree, with probably fifty to sixty of them.
She approached the well and looked down, the well was bottomless. Above the well's mouth was a bucket. Tian Sisi lowered the bucket and had to exert all her strength to draw up just half a bucket of water. She scooped up some water with her hands and drank it; the water was slightly warm, with a hint of sweetness, it tasted even better than Farmer's Spring water. Tian Sisi couldn't help but drink a few more mouthfuls.
Tian Sisi pushed open the vermilion gate, and inside was a room emitting the fragrance of liquor. The room was not large, about fifty to sixty square meters, with the floor paved with white marble tiles. In the center, there were two pools, one large and one small. The large pool was the size of a swimming pool, while the small one was only the size of a basin.
The fragrance of wine was emanating from the large pool, which brimmed with a jade-green liquid, glowing and with a depth that was not visible. The intoxicating aroma of alcohol wafted through the air. Beside the large pool was the small pool, filled with a milk-like liquid, the surface level with the pool's edge. Tian Sisi noticed a small notch on the edge of the small pool, through which a very thick milky liquid slowly flowed into the large pool. It was truly a slow flow, hundreds of times slower than the pace of a snail. By Tian Sisi's estimation, it would take at least a week for this liquid to flow into the larger pool.
What were these two pools used for? Could they be liquor pools? She looked around and spotted a tall cabinet in the corner of the room, covered with many drawers. Tian Sisi walked over and pulled one open, inside was a notebook, written in brush-calligraphy. Fortunately, it was in a regular script, so Tian Sisi could understand it. It contained the method for making a type of liquor called "beauty wine", claiming that whether men or women drink a cup of this liquor daily, one can remain youthful forever.
The other drawers were the same, each containing a liquor recipe—some for treating various chronic diseases, some for extending life, some harmful ones, as well as many ancient recipes that had been lost over time. Tian Sisi was dazzled looking through them.
From the notes in the largest drawer, Tian Sisi learned that this space was called the Jade Space, which only the direct descendants of the He Family could enter. The He Family? It seems that the real father of the original body's owner surnamed He. Tian Sisi continued to read, and the large pool turned out to be the Jade Pond. No matter what type of liquor was brewed, if some of the jade liquid from the Jade Pond was mixed in, the resulting liquor would be as exceptional as the finest jade brew, its aroma could waft ten miles away.
The small pool was the Jade Pool, the liquid inside was Spiritual Liquid, but it couldn't be drunk directly. It had to be fermented into the liquor to be effective. Ordinary people who frequently consumed liquor with Spiritual Liquid could extend their life and maintain a healthy body.
The water in the well of the courtyard was just ordinary water, except it was a Grade Water. However, the trees were wine yeast trees. During the brewing process, mixing the black fruit flesh from the wine yeast trees into the grains would allow the grains to ferment, acting just like the yeast, only that the effect of the fruit from the wine yeast trees was much better.
The remaining fruit peels could be thrown into the Jade Pond, where they would automatically transform into Jade Liquid. Beyond the courtyard, there were over twenty acres of cropland where the ancestors of the He Family had planted many crops—rice, sorghum, corn, wheat, sweet potatoes, flowers, and so on—, all to be used as raw materials for brewing.
