Chapter 9 - 009 Uncle
Lunch was green vegetable soup with pig head meat, the pig head meat was stewed until it was tender, served in a big basin with a thick layer of oil floating on the soup. Man Tong laughed and said, "Ah Nan still loves pig ears so much, but what's so tasty about them? It's all bones and skin. Eating meat should be like your little uncle who eats the fatty parts, that's the way to enjoy it."
Man Tong demonstrated by picking up a thick piece of fat meat and swallowing it down, then looked around the table; everyone, both adults and children, chose the fattiest meat to eat, even Granny Zhao, Ai Qing, and Qiuyang, the three women, also picked the fatty meat, not finding it greasy at all.
Tian Sisi shook her head in disgust, "Little uncle, the fatty meat is for you, auntie, and brother. I'm fine with just the ears."
Tian Sisi genuinely didn't like fatty meat; her favorite was gnawing on bones. However, to Man Tong and Qiuyang, that seemed very charming, feeling that their niece was indeed worth doting on, knowing to leave the good stuff for them.
"Little uncle, do you know how much a camera costs?" Tian Sisi brought up the topic of cameras.
"A camera? That's a luxury item. Why are you asking about that, Ah Nan?"
"I'm just asking. I heard Sister Lili say that a family in their big courtyard owns a camera that can take photos as real as life." Once again, Tian Lili was used by Tian Sisi as a shield.
