Still collapsed on the floor, Briar let out sweet and heavy breaths with a flushed face. Klaus watched her with an unreadable expression.
He had said he would help with her condition, but something kept him from making a move.
The issue wasn't his ability to help her, but what he had to do to break the activated curse.
Do I actually have to do that? Klaus thought hesitantly.

From the name alone, he deduced it was a type of soul contract that bound two souls together—one of which would be the Master, while the other would be the Servant. Naturally, it was a form of demon mysticism, something entirely unknown to the human race. As he had explained to Briar, its purpose was to enforce absolute loyalty.
If a servant betrayed their master or harbored guilt, the contract would enact punishment. In this case, Briar, as the servant, had failed to answer her master's question, triggering the contract's retribution—a curse.
The real problem was that Briar was a succubus, meaning the curse took the form of a succubus curse.
I think the contract was formed the moment she was summoned. Is that the real reason I fainted earlier?
Since the contract is already in place, the curse took immediate effect... but how do I break a succubus curse?
