Chapter 149: My hate and My love
[I don’t like giving second chances, but you... I gave you countless chances even when you didn’t deserve it. Why? Because I loved you. But now, I don’t think I still do.]
[There’s nothing to fix anymore, Vin. I’m done. ]
[Stop coming here because if you don’t, I’ll move out.]
Fil’s voice replayed in Vincent’s mind like a broken record. He chugged down a can of beer while driving, stepping on the pedal as hard as he could. Honks rang on the highway at how recklessly he was in the car, earning countless curses from other drivers. But he didn’t care.
Vincent squeezed the empty can of beer in his hand, tossing it into the front passenger seat. He then picked up another can of beer, opening it with only one hand, and chugging half of it in one go.
"Filomena..." he breathed out, wiping the corner of his mouth with the back of his hand. "You can’t just throw me away like this."
Vincent punched the honk, making the car ahead of him move out of his way. Perhaps, if he truly got into an accident, she would change her mind. She rushed to him when she heard he got into an accident, but then she looked a little less worried when she saw he was fine.
But what if he wasn’t fine?
She wouldn’t have the heart to leave an injured man, right?
Vincent stepped on the pedal even harder, driving past some cars like a bolt of lightning. At this speed, if he crashed, it would kill him. But he didn’t care. Because if he didn’t die, it would be a small price compared to the benefits he would get. There was no way Fil would have the courage to leave him then. Not now, not in the future.
"Haha." An evil laugh escaped him, running his tongue across his inner cheek. "Haha. Hah."
