The Devil's Good Girl

Chapter 64: The longer, the better.

Fil liked Vincent since the first time she laid her eyes on him. That was when she was eight. Vincent only reciprocated her feelings when they were in high school; the time she was on the verge of giving up on him and ready to open her heart to those who showed an interest in her.

Her relationship with Vincent was slow but steady. It took them a year of dating before they could hug each other because she was too shy. In the beginning, she was just awkward and messed her words around him. Time gave her plenty of room to feel comfortable around Vincent.

So the development of her affair with Jackson was incredibly fast for her.

Was it because it all started under different settings? Or was her age a huge factor?

Regardless, being too comfortable with him felt like a bad omen for her heart. She knew that and yet, she couldn’t stop herself from watching him take over the kitchen and efficiently do everything with precision.

’His beauty is not only out of this world but... he’s also skilled in the kitchen.’ She was in awe as she felt like Jackson was putting on a show for her. ’This feels so unfair.’

Perfection.

Fil snapped her eyes as she shook her head awake.

’I should stay away from him,’ she told herself, tiptoeing away from the kitchen. ’It was the side dishes yesterday, or maybe the hug? Why did I even...’

Her train of thought halted as she was a few steps from the couch. Quite the irony of telling herself to stay away from Jackson when she could see the kitchen from the living area. However, seeing the papers they used last night took her attention.

Fil slowly sat on the couch, putting her coffee on the table. She reached for the pieces of paper on it. The first paper was hers and it was a drawing of a building. The next paper was Jackson’s. There was nothing it in aside from the loops and hearts.
