Chapter 147: The Queen’s Fall
Yuka lunged forward, her hammer swinging out, knocking away the insectoids blocking her path, and piercing deeply into the Queen’s body.
The Queen howled in pain, her thoughts dulled by Kenji’s psychic influence. Angrily, she shook her body, trying to dislodge the bothersome human clinging to her.
Yuka reached into the Queen’s oviposition cavity, climbing up through the hole, getting ever closer to the Queen’s brain.
The Queen, now in panic, sped up her egg-laying process. But due to insufficient energy, only one in a thousand of the eggs hatched successfully. And each of those successful hatchlings, falling to the ground, were immediately killed by another human – Kenji.
Yuka had climbed to the Queen’s brain. She transformed the hammer back into a long sword, the blade pointed downwards, and without hesitation, she plunged it into the Queen’s brain.
Gripping the sword, Yuka forcefully sliced through the Queen’s thick skin. She took out a glass bottle given to her by Nori, scooping up an entire bottle of the Queen’s green brain matter, preparing to leave the soon-to-collapse body of the Queen.
The Queen let out another piercing scream. Its body started trembling, shaking, shifting, and finally toppling over—
Kenji, having killed the last insectoid, watched Yuka retreat down the Queen’s cavity. He smiled tiredly yet relievedly.
It was over.
They were safe.
"This is truly..." Suddenly, Kenji’s smile froze.
