Chapter 66: My dear husband
Ash’s pov ;
Elijah’s intense gaze landed on the staff member, causing her to freeze in fear and surprise. Her eyes widened, and she stumbled backward, stammering out an apology while her face turned red in humiliation. "S-sir, I-"
"Shut up," he snapped extremely brutally, his voice laced with fury as he cut her off. She flinched at his harsh tone, but tried to explain herself again.
However, Elijah wasn’t having it. "You have some nerve, saying those things. Do you even know who you’re speaking to?"
I was taken aback by Elijah’s sudden loss of temper. The girls standing next to me visibly trembled with fear.
The rude girl who had been glaring at me before now shook her head furiously, desperately trying to apologise. "S-sir, I didn’t mean it, I-I-"
"I don’t care what you meant," Elijah interrupted coldly. "I’ve heard enough. Call your manager. Right now."
The girl hesitated for a moment before scurrying away, her face pale and shaken. The other girl who had attempted to intervene bowed deeply in front of us.
"I’m so sorry," she murmured, her voice trembling with fear and regret. "I didn’t think she would say something like that. Please forgive us."
Elijah’s gaze hardened as he glared at them. "The one you should apologise to is my partner," he said, gesturing towards me. "And not me."
I was rendered speechless by the whole situation. The girl’s eyes filled with tears as she continued to bow deeply, apologising over and over again. Despite feeling shocked and disoriented myself, I couldn’t help but feel sympathy towards her - she seemed genuinely remorseful and just trying to do her job.
