Chapter 264: The Judgement
"He won’t be a trouble anymore," Gordon said.
Rory assumed Gordon was talking about Lennon. "That’s good," Rory said. She had a bad feeling after seeing the pictures of Lennon glaring at them on the papers. But Gordon seemed to know something. He sounded so sure.
Rory had a feeling that Gordon did something. She would have put the phone on speaker if they weren’t in public. She mouthed to Liam that it was Gordon on the phone. She thought he would want to hear what he was saying. But he was more interested in finding the diapers.
Rory walked to a quiet place.
"By the way, what do you think about the lethal injection?" Gordon asked.
"It’s good. But he would be given anesthetics to not feel the pain? And his death would be quick and his body would be left pristine..." she whispered.
She didn’t like that he would be dying without pain. But these days all execution methods might be "humane" as some people think that no human deserves to die in the hands of the government.
"Hmm," Gordon hummed. "I see..." he said.
Rory waited. "Agnes was..." Gordon said and Rory listened closely. She couldn’t hear anything from the other end.
"It’s nothing. Live a good life with your family. That’s what your grandmother would have wanted for you," he said. And then the call ended.
