Chapter 161: Her Husband’s Lies
Rory could see that the detective was serious. She didn’t want to leave without seeing Liam. The assistant advised Rory to leave. She said that there will be other ways to meet Liam and that she doesn’t have to talk to the detective.
Maybe the detective could read Rory’s thoughts, she spoke turning Rory’s attention towards her.
"It would greatly help if you started answering my questions," Detective Giles said biting the back of the pen she was holding.
Rory nodded and walked to the seat not minding the loud sigh of the assistant.
"Ask away," she stared at the detective. If she is getting forced to be here, she won’t be very courteous. She will have to accept it. It’s not like she is doing everything according to the rules.
Detective Giles sized her up. "You don’t even have to do it. Your grandmother...One word from her, your husband won’t even be in here. Why~"
"My grandmother is sick. She can’t help me. Next?" Rory interjected the cop and said in a plain tone. She did not like talking about her grandmother.
"Is she very sick?" the detective asked.
Rory let out a deep breath. "I didn’t know you were going to question about my grandmother," she said hoping to put an end to that conversation.
But the detective didn’t look pleased. She was either chewing the back of her pen or she just poked the back of the pen into her teeth.
It annoyed Rory. She tried her best to be patient.
"Is it true that your grandmother wanted to commit you to juvenile detention center when you burned the hair of a high school girl?" the detective asked, this time sucking on the back of the pen.
