"Mum... Please... Help me. Not this... Please... Don’t let this happen to me... I’ll give you the land... And the house... Please... Tell them to let Yuanjun go and don’t humiliate me like this... Please... ," Xueman tried to plead with her mother. Gao Lin, with a sneer let go of Xueman to let her do what she wants.

Tears streamed down Xueman’s face, hoping that her mother would help her at least now. Her mother’s reactions made her laugh mockingly at herself soon.
There was a slight ripple in Rong Suyin’s dark pupils, but soon in turned back to indifference. That slight ripple in the end was the only love Xueman has got from her mother her whole life.
Her mother always hated her and pampered Weiye more. Xueman never thought about it since she never missed mother’s love when her father was around. Only after her father’s passing, did she realise how much her father was a part of her life. With her entirely isolated from everyone she knew previously and with the disappearance of Yuanjun soon after her father’s death, she tried to get some love from her mother. It is human nature to look for love after all. And it is only natural for a child to look for their parents for love and nurture. But she had to take on the role of provider after her father’s passing and all she has seen is the scowling face of her mother till now.
Complaints,demands, nagging and more demands... That’s all her mother would do to her. There was never once a day where her mother just sat by her side and brushed her hair or listened to what happened to her in school or work or just served her food or took care of her when she was.
All Xueman wanted to do today was to just give them a scare, so that they won’t disturb her and her company anymore. She wanted to say that the Li Enterprises and Li Xueman is now under the protection of Lu Yuanjun and the Lu family and they, the Gao family cannot do whatever they want anymore.
’But why did it turn out this way? Even Yuanjun is in grave danger! ’
Xueman with a dejected expression looked at her mother who, with her jaws clenched stared at her, like she was a stranger.
’I should have listened to Yuanjun!’ Xueman blamed herself, ’He told me not be merciful towards those two and he was right when he said those two will go further beyond just blackmail and wouldn’t mind hurting me even. How right was he? It was my foolishness and wrong understanding of these two whom I considered my family. He always is smart in reading people. And who stopped him from destroying the Gao family entirely? Fool! ’ Xueman mocked herself in her heart.
