Chapter 389: Birthday
Chenglei was rolling in his bed the next room wondering what Xing might be doing. He knew she didn’t eat a lot during dinner and when she left for her room she looked sad. In fact he noticed her face changing to sadness when he told her to stay in a different room. He couldn’t understand what she was thinking.
Is it because she wanted to stay with me?
Does she realise that I’m a man and it is hard for me to stay on the same room as the woman I like? Literally and figuratively hard? Too bad my heart is not that hard to see her weeping afterwards!
There are fruits in my room, so there will be fruits in her room too, right? Did she eat it ? Or did she just drink the wine she secretly sneaked inside her sleeves?
Should I go take a peek?
She’ll be fine! It would be bad if I got caught sneaking in her room in the middle of the night.
Chenglei tried to close his eyes and sleep.
Xing on the other hand lost the mood to drink and stared at the ceiling for a while. The entire place was made with wood and even the roof had beautiful carvings on it.
The warmth from the brazier filled the room and the gentle light from the brazier filled the room like a warm sunshine making the carvings come alive.
When she looked closer, the carvings were actually explaining a story.
Apparently a god had a child with a human which was unaccepted by the Heavenly Emperor. He was forbidden to meet that child but he protected the child from an evil god who was his enemy. But even so, he was sent to reincarnation and was punished.
What a heartwarming story!
