Chapter 388: He Is Pushing Her Away?
Chenglei informed Xing of their travel plans and that made Xing regret her decision to travel to a far away place. There were two options one through the sea and another route through the sky Kingdom if they wanted to travel in carriages. Either route would take a month and Xing who had motion sickness knew she’d suffer either way. Still she opted for travelling through land.
I have Chenglei with me and he will take care of me!
The day before she left for the Fire Kingdom, she received two separate edicts from the Imperial Palace but both of them are sealed with the seals of the Water and the Earth Emperor. Also there were two small pouches that came along too.
"What is it?", Xing asked Chenglei who brought it to her and he shrugged nonchalantly and sat beside her picking her teacup and started to drink the tea silently.
Xing opened one pouch tied with green silk ribbon to see a green jade hairpin with a tiger head and the other pouch with blue ribbon contained a blue jade ring with a tiger carved in it.
Xing read the edicts and she could see that the two Emperors have given her the Tiger Tokens and also they’ve made her the ambassador for negotiations on behalf of their Nations as she is meeting the Fire Emperor.
Xing knew the power of these tokens and titles and accepted it knowing the necessity of these items if she has to be treated properly in the Fire Kingdom.
So is this what he meant by making necessary arrangements?
Xing looked at Chenglei and he was looking at the hairpin and ring she placed on the table with a weird expression.
Did those two give her a hairpin and a ring even before I give her anything?
Chenglei was jealous. Although he has given all of his assets to her for maintenance, he is yet to gift her any jewellery.
If not for the fact that those are not something of Honorary value, he’d have thrown them away.
