Chapter 372: Her Worry
When Xing and Chenglei went to the dining hall for lunch, Xing found out that conveniently, she was seated beside Chenglei. She didn’t mind but the moment she entered, Ayane and Yukiko suddenly stood up and abandoning their husbands rearranged the seats and in the end, Xing was sitting between Ayane and Yukiko with all the men in the opposite side with a deep frown in their faces.
The three women noted their men were deeply displeased but they didn’t care. Their men are going to be there always but not the girls.
Xing noticed Ryuga looking so dejected and felt bad for him. But she had no regrets refusing him.
"Yukiko! Find a good girl for Ryuga to marry", she urged her sipping the expensive wine Chenglei brought for her.
"I know",Yukiko nodded. It seemed like he realised he has no chance with her anymore. It is time for him to move on.
Chenglei had no qualms to let her drink because she is in his place and the worst thing she might do if she gets drunk is acting intimate with him and he half expected her to get drunk and act that way with him. He’s been holding back his urges to kiss her and push her on his bed a lot these days. He really wanted to hold this woman.
Ayane who was pregnant wasn’t allowed to even take a sip out of the nice smelling wine by her husband and that made her extremely irritated. Her being pregnant didn’t help with her mood either.
Xing got almost drunk with all the wine she drank and Chenglei had to remind her to eat once in a while.
The three were carelessly whispering with each other and laughing and everytime Xing emptied her cup Ayane would ask for the last drop in her cup making Yi Kwan mad. But he couldn’t do anything about it.
The Water Emperor saw the priceless smile on his wife he never saw these days and felt guilty for not being able to keep that smile on her where he wants her to be.
He wanted to be in the palace and she didn’t want to be there but he loved her and he forced her to stay there with him. He knew he is doing something incurable to her soul by forcing her but he really could not decide on one or the other.
If he was given a choice of being the Emperor or her husband... No, it can’t be one or the other. He wanted both.
