Chapter 149: The Secret Guard!
While Xing was wandering around in the Netherworld thinking that months have passed, in the human realm only minutes have passed and Shengli called for a doctor.
Physician Meng who was there with Eunuch Xin to have a talk with the Emperor, entered the bed chambers of the Emperor upon the order of the Emperor to check the Noble Consort who was unconscious in the dragon bed.
He saw Shengli and Rijun in there and was surprised but didn’t show it in his face. Rijun who had the evidence that this Physician lied kept his cool to see if he comes clean.
Everyone except Shengli left the bed chambers for the Physician to have a checkup in Xing.
Shengli who was angry at Shihong for hurting Xing and more at himself for letting Xing get hurt was looking at the doctor with scrutinising glance and he looked like he would skin him alive if he did one wrong move.
"There’s too much blood, why?", he asked in such a cold tone freezing the entire room. Is he the same one who wrongly diagnosed her as pregnant?
The physician didn’t bother much with Shengli as he felt it is odd for the Consort’s brother and cousin with her at the dead of the night along with the Emperor. No matter how one would look at it, it is weird! For now he has to stick to his previous diagnosis, to keep himself alive.
The physician did some tests and knelt in front of the Emperor,
"I’m sorry, Your Majesty! The Consort has lost her child.. "
Before he could continue on with his condolences Shengli kicked him hard on his back and pressed him on the floor.
