Chapter 308: GLITCH IN THE TIMELINE
"SO, that’s how our future children would look like."
Aigoo.
Wonhee blushed when she heard what Hwang Yejun said— and he said it in a serious and determined voice.
In short, he wasn’t joking.
Plus, Hwang Yejun was looking intently at his Status Window while watching Little Wonhee and Little Yejun on the screen.
He’s so sure that we’re endgame.
"Wonhee-ya, are you okay?" Yejun asked when he turned to her. "Your face is red. Are you feeling unwell?"
"I’m just blushing," Wonhee said, and then she complained lightly. "Yejun-ah, how can you say that casually?"
"Say what?"
"You sound so confident that we’ll end up married and with kids."
"Oh, you want us to get married?"
"Yah! Do you just want babies from me because you want to experience the process of making one?"
Yejun suddenly burst out laughing.
Wonhee, embarrassed after she realized what she had just said, smacked Yejun on the arm.
The jerk just continued laughing out loud.
"I’m gonna get upset if you don’t stop laughing at me, Hwang Yejun."
Just like that, Hwang Yejun suddenly turned serious. "I’m not laughing at you, Wonhee-ya. I’m sorry if it seemed that way."
Wonhee just rolled her eyes.
Yejun wrapped an arm around Wonhee’s shoulders and pulled her closer to his body. "I just find it cute that you’re still surprised that I’ve already imagined having kids with you. Didn’t I already tell you the names that I came up with for our future children?"
"But you never said that we’d get married," Wonhee complained lightly. "Yes, I know that there are more and more couples now that skip marriage but still choose to have kids. I’m not against that. But, personally, I want to be married before having kids."
"Then we’ll get married once all this shit is over."
"Please tell me that’s not a proposal."
"No, don’t worry," Yejun assured Wonhee while gently rubbing her shoulder. "I’ll give you a cute and intimate marriage proposal that you deserve."
"Alright, I’m looking forward to it, but let’s talk about that again later," Wonhee said, smiling because she was already in a good mood. "Let’s continue watching for now."

WONHEE and Hwang Yejun had to die in order to be reborn.
Hence, the System put them into an eternal slumber.
When they opened their eyes, they were back to being babies.
But, of course, they only got back their memories when they were kids.
Wonhee was pretty sure that she and Hwang Yejun were around six years old when the memories of their past lives returned to them little by little.
Hence, their new bodies suddenly became unfamiliar to them.
"This isn’t the time to be playing, Yejunnie," Wonhee said firmly. "It’s strange that this place looks abandoned now! No one is taking care of us. It’s a miracle that we’re still alive!"
Hwang Yejun looked at his arms, obviously in deep thought. "I think we have reached transcendence, Wonhee-ya."
"Transcendence?"
"Yes, I can tell that we’re Transcendents now— even at this tender age. Since we are already Transcendents, we don’t need food or water to survive. We just need Mana to continue living, and this place doesn’t lack Mana."
Ah, Hwang Yejun had a point.
Even so...
"It still feels weird," Wonhee said while looking around. "The last thing I remember, this place isn’t like this. Now it looks like an abandoned museum. Aside from the two of us, I don’t see any sign of life."
"There are also signs that a huge fight occurred while we were sleeping," Hwang Yejun said while pointing at the damaged walls and the half of the roof that collapsed. "The System must have been attacked."
Right, the System.
"System-nim, we’re awake now," Wonhee called for the System softly. "Please respond."
It took a while, so she thought the System was really down.
Fortunately, her Status Window appeared.
She almost smiled— almost.
[We found you.]
That felt ominous.
Wonhee was surprised when Hwang Yejun suddenly grabbed her wrist and pulled her while running.
Before she could even ask what was happening, the loud explosion behind them already answered her question. The ground shook hard, but the two of them ran fast. It was thanks to their transcendent bodies that they didn’t trip and maintained their balance.
Obviously, they were being attacked by whatever it was that caused the System to shut down.
Now Wonhee had so many things running through her mind, too.
Was the enemy still the Anti-System Virus?
How did that thing find them?
Just how long were they asleep in that place?
Most of all...
"Can we fight?" Wonhee asked. Actually, she was trying to summon her skills— but to no avail. It was proof that the System must have been really defeated. "Well, to be honest, I don’t see the enemy with all the thick smoke around..."
"I can’t seem to use my power. It’s as if my abilities as a Hunter have been locked," Hwang Yejun said, frustrated. "It probably has something to do with the System shutting down."
"Then what should we do?"
"Run until we find a safe space."
Fortunately, Wonhee and Hwang Yejun immediately found that safe space— and they knew it was the one right away.
She was talking about the huge tree that they found on the first floor.
It was somehow giving the vibes that it would keep them safe.
And their instinct was right.
As soon as Wonhee and Hwang Yejun entered the zone where the tree was, their Status Windows suddenly appeared at the same time.
Fortunately, this time, it was the real System speaking to them.
[Chu Wonhee, Hwang Yejun, I’m sorry but I need to send you to the new timeline— please try to remember the past. At this point, I can’t guarantee that you’ll remember the first timeline. Our last hope would be Gong Yool. But, for now, I need to get you out of here safely.]
What?
Wonhee couldn’t believe it.
What’s the point of rewinding time if we wouldn’t remember the first timeline?!
