100 Ways to Solve a Murder

Chapter 149: The Reunion VII

iThe Octagon, Queen Mary University

Sam looked at the back of Levi’s head as he pulled her along with him leaving David Fletcher on his own. He knew there was only one exit and he had to take that walk on his own, the rest the Bobbies will handle per standard operating procedure.

The redhead could feel how tightly the Irishman was holding her hand, almost desperately, and she wondered what was wrong. And what did he mean by evacuation? What for?

"Levi, what’s happening?" she asked the Irishman. Instead of an answer, the slicked blond opened the nearest door to his left and pulled her inside. Her brows furrowed in confusion, what was happening? Why were they there, in the dark empty room she could only assume was a lounge.

He saw the question in her eyes, and she parted her mouth to speak, but before she could utter a word, he pushed her back against the door, closing it shut as he did. And his hand found its way under her chin tilting it upwards firmly. His lips crashed against her roughly.

It was the first time he’d seen her in such a position, and he hated it. Months ago he thought he could deal with it, with her being with another man. He considered that they really were better off as friends. But right then, he knew that he was never okay with it. But he simply never even thought of it, always pushed it at the back of his mind. Out of sight, out of mind, after all.

But witnessing it, her mouth mashed against someone else’s made his skin crawll. The urge to break David’s bones and rip him into shreds was strong. And it took all of his self-control not to smash the bloke’s head against the bookshelves, and the only way for him to walk away without assaulting the man and foiling his plan was not to spare him a look.

Sam stood there heart thumping against her chest, soft lips kissing him back. His hands grabbed both sides of her face, tilting it to one side, gliding his lips against her once more.

And she wondered if time stopped, she could feel her adrenaline flowing through her veins. So much so that she forgot to breathe, and when she did, her senses were filled with his scent, hypnotizing her beyond reason. Her knees grew weak as he nipped on her lower lip, and his warm tongue brushed against hers in heated passion.

Levi swallowed hard as her hand slid over his Tuxedo. Her tiny hands gripped against his black vests, desperately trying to steady herself before her knees gave out. His left arm slid around her waist, pulling her close, pressing his body against her, trapping her against the door. His right hand grabbed the back of her hair, tilting her head further back as his lips met hers once more, deeper, rougher.
