100 Ways to Solve a Murder

Chapter 148: The Reunion VI

The Octagon, Queen Mary University

Levi looked at Carol’s eyes with as much intensity as he could express, "Tell me everything you know." he said.

Carol Corden trusted her life in the hands of the Irishman, and she shared everything she knew about her fiance with Levi. He ’acted’ as the negotiator between her and the feds, when in fact he was the one calling the shots at that moment. He hung onto her every word, and his eyes widened in glee, they got him with Carol retracting her previous statement that she was with him at home during both Olivia-rose and Evelyn’s death. And with her intel stating that she had seen him hiding a large number of drugs in their place but was too afraid to confront him. All of it was enough probable cause for them to get an arrest warrant from a judge.

But that would even be too long for Levi; he needed something that would catch him now, to assure that he will not have enough time to escape or attempt to release their current’s informants compromising videos to the world. He racked his brain on what would be the perfect course of action, and it hit him. A sinister grin appeared on his face, and he turned to the brown-haired woman, he placed his hands on each of her shoulders, leaning forward to look straight to her still frightened eyes. "Do you trust me?" he asked, and with all her might, Carol nodded.

"Then stay here until I get you," he said, taking her silence as consent, he returned to the event.

He grabbed his phone and dialled Marco’s number.

It was 15 minutes later when the bearded GP blended in the crowd sporting a tuxedo, gel keeping his hair in place. He grabbed his phone to dial the Irishman’s number, but before he could even press the call button he received a text, ’On your left’ it said.

Marco made his way towards the balcony on his left, and there stood his best mate minus his tuxedo jacket, he turned to his right, noticing a familiar-looking woman. Looking closely, he noted that it was Carol Corden, over her gown was the Irishman’s tuxedo jacket.

Marco wondered why he was there in the first place, he had no idea why, he just received his instructions minutes before saying, "In the trunk, there’s a suit. Wear it and get here. Now." and lo and behold said Tuxedo was in the trunk like he said.

Levi turned to the woman, "Carol, you remember Marco Evans." the Irishman said, "Good to see you again, Miss Corden." Marco said, offering to shake her hand with his. She took it and gave him a curt smile—the two of them mirroring each other’s oblivious expressions, as to why they were being introduced.
