Chapter 45: Murder of the 15th II
Levi made his way towards Sam’s Lab, his black coat bellowing as he walked. But upon his entrance to the lab, he noticed it empty. He pondered on texting her but thought otherwise after seeing her mobile phone on the table.
So, he decided to take the elevator towards her office, taking a peek through the wide glass wall he saw it empty once again. So he turned to the assistant’s cubicle across the office.
The brunette was sitting with a phone in her left hand, a pen in her right taking notes on the task at hand. She needed to remind her boss that her monthly routine meeting was moved to a later date.
"Alright. Yes, I’ll make sure to inform her. Thank you." She said, too distracted to even notice the tall blond man standing there.
After ending the call, she realized the looming shadow over her and she almost jumped off her chair when she noticed him standing there. He was fucking tall she suddenly realized from her spot in the chair. And he was staring at her, with his scrutinizing eyes.
Elle scowled at the blond, annoyed that he surprised her. "Holy fuck." She cussed, after calming her racing heart. "She went out for lunch," Elle informed, knowing full well who he came there for. Sam was the only reason Levi Jackson would come to Guy’s. Or a corpse, of course.
Levi didn’t respond, he couldn’t respond. He knew that writing all too well. The very same that he had been looking at for the past week, and there it was on her table. Exact strokes and he just witnessed her writing it. He continued to stare at her, the Assistant, thinking.
The next ideas coming in his mind he didn’t like; Elle was not smart enough to perform homicides that looked like Natural death. But her boss was, Sam was undeniably capable of performing such a difficult feat, he wouldn’t doubt it for a second.
However, she was clearly not the type, or was he being biased because he knew her? He can’t tell, he was confused. Was his profile on her wrong?
Did he get it wrong after all?
