Chapter 80: New Proposal

"Y- you’re here right now??" I cried out as shock shoot through me like an arrow flying in the air.
Jake slowly dropped his hand and regarded me like I wasn’t making any sense.
"Er ... yeah, I am?" His response sounded more like a question and I closed the door, feeling creeped out as I approached him, stopping a few feet away.
"Did you hurry over here after speaking to me outside?" I asked and this time, Jake frowned as he sat up.
"What do you mean?"
I gestured at the door as I spoke, my eyes still blown wild. "You were just outside, speaking to me. Then you left, while I said I was returning to our room cause I was tired...." I continued and he slowly shook his head, his eyes widened too.
"Lilac... I’ve been in here since about four hours and I never left." He revealed and it felt like the air got knocked out from my lungs.
"B- but... are you sure?" I whispered, feeling my legs shaking a little from how frightened I felt right now. When Jake stood up and approached me this time, I stepped backwards before I could stop myself, still gaping at him.
That didn’t faze him because he stepped forehead again and took my hand gently, then he led me to his bed and helped me sit.
