But then I stopped in my tracks because as soon as I turned around, my eyes locked with the crowned prince’s. I was so shocked that I stumbled back, my mouth and eyes flying open as I gaped up at him. He had his hands deep in his pocket, his hair loose and flowing around his face as he silently regarded me.
My heart was racing hard as I stared up at him, and nothing was coming to my mind right now that I was supposed to speak.
"You’re here." He noted in a low voice that made a shiver roll down my spine. I nodded while struggling to formulate another sentence.
"Uh, yeah..," I mumbled, my cheeks flushing when his eyes raked over my face.
He stepped closer in the next moment and I took one step back while my heart pounded hard against my ribs. When he took one step closer, that’s when I noticed that his eyes were bright gold right now, and that made me gulp as panic bells went off in my head.
Was that a good thing? Did that mean trouble?
I had no idea.
I waited to feel fear, but I didn’t feel anything. Although, my heart was still racing fast, and when I inched backward again till my back met with his door, I realized that what I was feeling within me right now was excitement. Raw, unbridled excitement. My heartbeat was accelerating fast and my stomach was clenching and unclenching every few seconds.
When he closed the distance between us, one of his hands coming to rest on the spot above my head, I swallowed emptily as I wet my bottom lip with my tongue when his eyes kept staring at them.
