Chapter 29: Confusion

It felt like I got whiplash.
I thought I heard wrong, I was certain I didn’t hear correctly. But moments later, the boy was parting his lips to release another word.
"H- hurts."
His voice shook as he spoke, which tugged at something fierce within my chest. I fully closed the distance between us, climbing into the bed and gently touching the boy’s cheek. He was so soft, as soft as he looked. I let my eyes drag over his writhing form, but I didn’t understand what was happening.
I had hoped he’d come out of his unconscious state before midnight, and I had expected him to be hungry once awake, and not incoherent. His eyes were squeezed close as he whimpered and arched off the bed again.
He was trembling all over and sweating so much despite the cold temperature of the room. His scent was impossibly thick in the air and as I leaned down to take a closer look at him, he let out another small whimper. I almost fell off the bed as realization hit me right in the face.
Was this... arousal?
My eyes widened as I tracked the boy’s movements. His hands were weakly shoving and clawing at his clothes as he kept moving around in the bed, and he kept letting out a series of small, choked sounds that were slowly starting to drive me crazy.
This wasn’t normal, was it? Why was he suddenly aroused?
