Chapter 12: For The Taking
Lilac
The rest of the party went by in a blur. I couldn’t concentrate on anything else that was happening, not when I was this frightened. The fact that I’d die tonight was making my limbs shake while my teeth rattle underneath my veil. The grand king couldn’t notice that, since he was too busy throwing back drink after drink while laughing loudly along with the reigning king of this kingdom. He was also stroking my head and ears at any given chance. I hated how his hand felt, it made my skin crawl and it was yet to come in contact with my skin.
How would I live through being forcefully taken and fed on till death? Was this my karma for trying to flee despite kira asking me not to? But if I hadn’t tried to flee, I knew my life wouldn’t amount to anything and I’d end up losing my life sooner than later.
So should I be happy that my life is getting ended this way?
I didn’t realize the party ended till I was hurled up and into the arms of someone whom I believed was a guard, telling from how the grand king was warning him to be careful with his present.
"Careful, I want it to be completely flawless so I can thoroughly break it till only bits and pieces are left." The grand king said sharply and the guard apologized and proceeded to hold me like I was a rare, golden egg. The reigning king and a few men standing around laughed like he just said the funniest thing ever.
"Have fun with your new toy, father." The reigning king offered and the grand king grinned darkly, and I instantly recoiled at the sharp fangs hanging out his mouth. That’s what he’s gonna use to feed on my blood?
Oh heavens.
So this was really happening?
"Oh I will." The grand king drawled and it sounded like a threat to me, right before the grand king and his guards began to leave the large hall, with the guard carrying me walking in the middle.

I was dropped right outside a brown door. We got to this door in this large house through something that was like a box with two doors, that moved upward on its own accord after a button was fiddled with, then the doors opened again and we were heading down a hallway. I gulped fearfully, knowing it would be pointless to attempt screaming or running. This man might seem old, but from how he walked, I knew he wasn’t weak.
