Chapter 1116 - 1112: THE JEONG FAMILY’S GIFTS
After the meal, everyone went to the living room where they were served with some digesting tea which they drank as they ate.
Knowing that Diamond didn’t have much time to waste, Madam Lim didn’t want to drag the matter far but go straight to the point.
"I know that you don’t have much time currently, and I shall not be wasting it with meaningless talks," Madam Lim began to speak earnestly as she looked at Diamond, and all the noise quieted down as she spoke.
Diamond looked smilingly at the other as she talked.
"Before you agreed to treat my youngest, you made your own demands and you fulfilled your end of the bargain."
Madam Lim had already talked to her husband and children regarding Diamond’s demand, which wasn’t that difficult to be honest. When it comes to houses, they own a lot of them. Exchanging a house for their brother’s life was actually quite cheap. So, one complained after learning about it.
However, they also understood that the price asked for was very cheap, so they decided to take matters into their own hands, thus the large gathering today.
Madam Lim beckoned for Ji-an who appeared timely and passed a thick envelope over to her. Madam Lim took the envelope which she then passed over to Diamond who was seated on the couch next to her.
Diamond didn’t act pretentious but happily took the envelope. She didn’t think that this family was that efficient. It was just a few days and they have managed to find a house for her already. If that was the case, it means that she now owns two houses in this country and she was looking forward to earning something from them. After all, why keep a house collecting dust when it could be used to bring in some money?
She doesn’t mind staying at hotels at all, even if she envies the Jeong family for living in such a beautiful house.
Diamond didn’t utter a word but opened the envelop under the gazes of many. She then pulled out the document and her eyes widened upon noticing something.
Whilst holding the documents, she raised her head to look at Madam Lim and found the woman smiling. It seemed that she already knew what she was about to ask.
"Like I said earlier, the price you mentioned seemed cheap especially compared to my son. Since that was the case, we decided not to get one but three houses, however, they are not all local. However, the good thing about them is you can still lease them out if you are not using them."
Because Diamond is a foreigner and one who doesn’t reside in Gesalsi full time but visit occasionally, Madam Lim couldn’t actually get her hands on other kinds of houses despite her family dealing in the same industry. She could only transfer houses from other zones that the government didn’t mind having foreigners in.
Since Diamond didn’t live in Gesalsi, it wouldn’t be actually bad for her to put these houses on lease. That was allowed and the country supported that pretty much.
"But before that happen, I wanted you to get the deeds first and then if you are interested in that, you can then fill a few forms and I will help you get the permit required."
Diamond beamed as she put back the title deeds into the envelope.
"Hehe, Aunty, you are truly after my soul. I was even thinking of asking you for some help regarding this matter. I just acquired another house in Hwasadong Town which I want to lease to foreign tourists since I won’t be living here for long. I can’t let a house gather dust when it can be used wisely.
I was hoping that you can get me the Foreign Tourist Urban Homestay Business permit for that house, but now that you have given me three, then I guess you should help me with four of them."
Madam Lim and her children were amazed by her words.
They didn’t think that in such a short time she acquired a house and in that special town of all places.
She then started to ask Diamond about the house, and she truthfully answered. Since she wanted to turn all the houses into homestays, Madam Lim didn’t have anything to complain about. She beckoned Ji-an who brought the necessary documents, which Diamond faithfully filled. As for the documents required the house, she just got the deeds for through Iseul, Ji-an would come with her and get a copy.
Madam Lim promised to get the job quickly so that by the time she leaves, she would have settled that matter and leave stress free.
After dealing with the matter of the houses, Madam Lim wasn’t done.
"Now that it’s over, I wanted to give these to you as a token of appreciation as a mother. I hope that you will accept these from me," she said with a smile as she passed an exquisite jewelry box to Diamond.
Diamond’s eyes were sparkling as she accepted the box. Although she wasn’t someone who wears jewelry all the time, whenever she wears it, she makes sure that she donned herself to the fullest without being stingy.
Moreover, Gesalsi has a historical record and if she were to get her hands on those antique jewelry, then wouldn’t she be drowning in money and fame?
She opened the box and her eyes twinkled as her mouth opened slightly in silent exclaim.
Madam Lim felt extremely satisfied upon seeing that reaction. She had rummaged through her dowry box in order to find a piece that could satisfy this rich young lady while complimenting her. She wanted something that could be used and not locked away in a box. Although she wasn’t someone who wear most of her jewelry, perhaps, Diamond could put them to use and wear them beautifully.
As a result, when she was going through her dowry box, she came across it and that beautiful face came into view. Her heart was set on it and she decided that the piece would make a beautiful addition to Diamond’s jewelry treasury.
