Chapter 1115 - 1111: MEETING THE JEONG FAMILY 2
Meanwhile, Madam Lim wore an aunty smile as she looked at her son and then at Diamond. She seemed to have understood something and the smile on her face widened.
However, she didn’t let the two continue holding hands like that, but instead cleared her throat to get their attention as she said, "thanks to you, Diamond, Young-Jae is now healthier than ever," and that did it.
The two who were eye-speaking finally parted and looked at Madam Lim.
Diamond smiled at the woman and didn’t even act embarrassed at acting unexpectedly in front of so many people. Her heart was still pounding loudly against her chest, as she recalled that wonderful sensation when she was holding hands with Young-Jae.
She was now certain, this young man, she must have him at all costs. After all, he wasn’t taken.
What was wrong with dating a foreigner?
She can do long-distance relationships just fine.
"Haha, I was just doing what I could. Moreover, with how earnest you were, how could I have fooled around? You reminded me of my wonderful mother," Diamond flatteringly said, speaking nonsense though she was also being truthful.
A wonderful mother always makes her heart flutter and make her empathetic. She wouldn’t want to see a mother grieving for her child. That would be awful.
Madam Lim was especially happy to hear that. The smile on her face was so bright, making the daughters stunned.
It was rare to see their mother smiling genuinely on rare days.
"Good! Good. You must be a good daughter!"
Diamond let out a chuckle as she waved her hands nonchalantly, "Haha, I recently became one. I used to be a troublesome one but thanks to my parents’ love, I still ended up on the right path without going much astray."
Madam Lim was happier to hear that. In order to learn more about Diamond, she went through Diamond’s videos, so she was fully aware of her character. She was someone who loves talking about her own life experience, so she was aware of some of the things that she did as a child. What she liked about what she saw was how Diamond still knew to turn back to the right path and becoming filial to her parents and sister even after becoming rich.
"Haha, nevertheless, you are a good daughter."
Diamond beamed brightly at her prospective mother-in-law and happily said as she looked at the children behind Madam Lim. "You are also a wonderful mother. I can tell by your children."
When Madam Lim heard that, it then dawned on her that the proper introductions haven’t been made yet, and she was quick to change that.
"Talking about children, how about I properly introduce you to them before we head inside?"
"No problem," she didn’t turn that down and readily agreed. Although she knew them by heart considering the fact that Andrea would never leave his mother in a stump, she smilingly waited for Madam Lim to introduce her to her future family.
Madam Lim didn’t waste any chance and began.
She started with her eldest child.
"Meet Soo-Yeon, she is my oldest, and standing next to her is her husband ..." Madam Lim gave an introduction as she gestured to the couple.
Diamond politely nodded at the couple before they exchanged pleasantries with polite handshakes which were brief and concise.
After that, she was introduced to Min-Ji and her husband, followed by Na-Young and her live-in husband. Last but not least, it was the oldest son’s wife, named Che Ye-Jin, then lastly
"This is my oldest daughter-in-law, Che Ye-Jin. My son couldn’t be here because of other commitments," Madam Lim continued and Diamond shared a brief exchange with this daughter-in-law who carried aloofness that fitted her well.
She looked like someone who was born in a noble family and have these aristocratic traits imbedded in her. She was the kind of person that would make her tired to be around with for a long time.
She prefers bubbly people or silent ones, but these people who looks as if everyone was beneath them, she didn’t want to stress herself.
She made a mental note to stay clear from Ye-Jin, lest she ends up exploding and sharing her own mind.
"Lastly, this is my youngest son, Young-Jae, you have already met."
Diamond’s thoughts on Ye-Jin were clearly thrown away when Young-Jae was talked about.
She beamed at the young man and then at Madam Lim.
"Um, he is what brought us together, after all."
With that, Diamond met everyone officially and she was brought into the familiar house.
Diamond arrived around lunch time and Madam Lim was already prepared.
Everyone was brought to the dining room where they all found their seats. Diamond was seated next to Madam Lim and Young-Jae was sitting next to her. Madam Lim took the head chair with Diamond seated by the corner. So, it couldn’t be said that she was being sandwiched between the two.
There were numerous dishes on the table, which shocked the children. Although they knew that the kitchen was preparing a meal, they had no idea that it would be that much. How were they supposed to finish all that?
But they quickly got their answers when they saw Diamond started to dig in without care as if she was in her own home.
Young-Jae watched with a doting smile as Diamond ate her food. He even gave her several dishes that he felt she would like. After all, he was fully aware of what a gourmand she was when it comes to food.
The two interacted happily as if no one was there and the dishes in front of Diamond kept on disappearing. It made the daughters who were very fond of maintaining their figures to throw that away for a moment and eat another bowl of rice. The way Diamond was eating made the food look more delicious. Even their husbands ate huge amounts as well and weren’t as considerate as before. After all, as a son-in-law how could you just act as you please?
