The Return of the Cannon Fodder Trillion Heiress

Chapter 875 Jealous 2

Hera swallowed the lump in her throat as she stared at Xavier. She could see the jealousy in his eyes, the quiet flare of possessiveness surfacing. It reminded her of how the male leads were originally written in The ’Thin Line Between Love and Lust.’ Sure, they had agreed to share the female lead, but that didn’t mean the rivalry ever truly disappeared. Each of them still viewed the others as competitors, constantly scheming for more time with her. Sometimes, they’d even share her simultaneously just to maintain the plot balance.

But Hera had nearly forgotten that.

Ever since she accepted them all, things had been unexpectedly harmonious. They acted more like a large, unconventional family than rivals. Though they still played little pranks on one another, those schemes were more playful than malicious—annoying at times, but never serious enough to cause real tension.

What surprised her most was how willing they were to step aside and give each other time with her. Maybe it was practicality—they all had busy schedules, after all—or maybe they’d simply matured beyond their original designs.

But now, with Leo away, something had shifted. The careful balance they’d maintained seemed to have tipped. Without Leo, who often served as the group’s unspoken mediator or maybe head of the group, it was as if the original programming of the male leads was reasserting itself. And Xavier, once calm and teasing, was now showing signs of the possessive character he’d been written to be.

While Hera was momentarily distracted, Xavier narrowed his eyes, his thoughts darkening—he assumed she was thinking about Alexandre.

"Strawberry, you look distracted... Was I being too gentle with you?" he murmured, his voice laced with a teasing edge.

His gaze swept the room and landed on the tie he’d used the night before, now draped over the back of a chair. Without missing a beat, he picked it up and gently wrapped it around Hera’s eyes, blindfolding her.

The sudden darkness made her gasp softly, and for a moment, her mind flickered to a memory of her with Luke and Rafael in her study, that night when everything blurred into heat and desire. Her heart gave a nervous lurch. Anticipation bloomed in her chest, mingling with tension and excitement.

With her sight taken away, her other senses sharpened. Every shift in the air, every step Xavier took, was magnified. Though he stood only two steps away, his presence felt like a gravitational pull against her skin.

Then, his fingertips brushed lightly, painfully slowly, from her upper arm down to her palm. A whimper escaped her lips, unbidden. The tingling sensation trailed after his touch like sparks across her nerves, igniting a flutter deep in her stomach. Her core tightened in response, her breath catching as her body reacted to even the softest graze of his skin.
