After breakfast, Hera took a key from her cabinet. Since the fashion show was an upscale event attended by high-profile guests, it was only fitting that she arrive in style. Without hesitation, she chose her Rolls-Royce La Rose Noire Droptail.
With the key in hand, she strode out of the penthouse, radiating confidence and excitement. Behind her, Luke, Leo, Dave, Zhane, and Rafael followed, their smiles reflecting her enthusiasm.
How could she not be happy?
This was her best friend’s big day—a chance to showcase her talent and prove herself. And as her best friend, Hera had the honor of standing beside her to present her work. The thrill of it all made her practically glow.
When they reached the elevator, Leo leaned in and gave Hera a kiss—the first time he had gotten close to her since arriving. Hera found it a little unusual but brushed it off, assuming he just wasn’t in the mood. However, as she observed him, she noticed that while he was physically distant, he didn’t seem emotionally withdrawn.
Maybe he was just tired. Or perhaps he didn’t want her to smell the lingering scent of cigarettes on him. That would explain why he sat so far from her earlier and avoided getting too close—especially when he was usually the most clingy and touchy with her.
The more she thought about it, the more convinced she became that Leo was simply being self-conscious about his scent, exhausted, and maybe a little moody.
Understanding this, Hera decided to give him the space he needed. After all, if she hovered too much, it might suffocate him, and the last thing she wanted was to push him away.
She knew that if he ever started to pull back, there would always be people waiting for an opportunity to swoop in—and that was something she had no intention of letting happen.
