The Return of the Cannon Fodder Trillion Heiress

Chapter 248 First Day of School

Hera hurriedly exited Luke’s apartment as if she were being chased by a dog, with Luke following behind, laughing loudly and clearly enjoying teasing her. Her face flushed with embarrassment as she realized she could have handled the situation better. She had become flustered by the unmistakable sex appeal of the main male lead.

"I’m sure he did that on purpose!" Hera exclaimed, stomping her foot in frustration as the elevator descended to the basement. However, she quickly reminded herself not to dwell on it. "No use crying over spilled milk," she thought, clearing her mind. ’Out of sight, out of mind.’

This time, with her Lamborghini Veneno Roadster exposed in the picture, the paparazzi would surely be lying in wait outside Green Dragon Manor, her workplace and campus, eager to interview her about the trending topic. They would easily recognize the three cars already showcased online. With her Pagani Codalunga still in the repair shop, using the Lamborghini Veneno Roadster or Bugatti Mistral was out of the question. The Rolls-Royce La Rose Noire Droptail, as open as the Bugatti Mistral, would make her instantly recognizable to everyone.

She decided to use her Bugatti La Voiture Noire to avoid being easily recognized. Even when passing by the gate, the reporters wouldn’t realize it was her and swarm her.

Why was she even going to such lengths when she had just debuted? Hera knew it was because Minerva was determined to crush her before she could rise to stardom like Alexi. It was easier to sabotage her while her career was still in its infancy. This scandal was likely Minerva’s doing, and Hera was certain that Minerva had already dispatched paparazzi to those locations to ambush her. In the worst-case scenario, some people might even disguise themselves as Alexi’s fans to throw rotten apples or, even worse, acid at her.

She knew she was being pessimistic, but it was better to be well-prepared than caught off guard.

Driving her Bugatti La Voiture Noire out of the parking lot, she leisurely made her way through the Green Dragon Manor’s road toward the main gate. Just then, she received a call from Cindy, reminding her that she hadn’t seen her when she left that morning.

"Hello, Cindy?" Hera’s crisp, clear voice broke the silence in her car.

"Young Miss, we’ve found some suspicious individuals lurking around Green Dragon Manor. They tried to blend in with the crowd and were hiding sulfuric acid. We’ve apprehended them, and I’ve dispatched more personnel to discreetly guard you around your campus and wherever you go," Cindy reported grimly.

Even though she had anticipated this due to Athena’s warning, Hera still felt a chill run down her spine. She couldn’t believe there were such vicious people in the world. Using sulfuric acid—just to ruin her face? But why? What could possibly drive someone to such lengths?

The mere thought of it made Hera’s limbs turn cold and her hands clammy. "Alright, I’ll leave this matter to you," she said, her voice slightly shaky. She exhaled, releasing her frustration and mounting fear, and composed herself.

"Don’t worry, Young Miss, we’ll do our best to protect you," Cindy reassured her before continuing. "And Gerald asked me to inform you that Tyler Lennon has committed numerous despicable acts targeting the heiresses of prominent families with only one female successor in their lineage. He’s still gathering the full scope of the matter and compiling a list of those families." Cindy’s voice was laced with disdain and disgust; just recalling what Gerald had said made her so angry she wanted to confront Tyler Lennon herself.
