Chapter 114 Bet Again?
After ensuring she was spotlessly clean and no longer reeking of animal shit, she stepped out of the bathroom. Xavier remained silently seated on the couch as he waited for her, while Zen appeared a bit flustered upon her emergence.
Hera rushed upstairs to dry her hair, hastily tying it into a messy bun before descending the stairs in a hurry. She didn’t even have a chance to call out to the gentlemen waiting on the couch because Bry arrived just in time, bursting into the cabin. Spotting Hera descending, he promptly seized her and whisked her away with him.
"Sister, what took you so long? Diamond has been pacing around excitedly in the stable, waiting for you. He wouldn’t even let Dad saddle him anymore," Bry explained, a little flustered as he hurriedly pulled her along.
Hera pursed her lips. ’She couldn’t possibly admit she took a long bath because she smelled like... well, you know,’ she thought, remaining silent as she followed closely. Xavier and Zen were also just behind them, following closely.
After a while, they reached the stable. Even before entering, Hera could already hear Diamond’s impatient snorts and neighs. The sound of the door being nudged open was louder than usual, indicating the horse’s eagerness.
"Dad, we’re here!!!!" Bry’s voice echoed inside the stable.
Diamond seemed to sense Hera’s arrival and eagerly stood on its hind legs, placing both front legs against the door of its stall. It snorted repeatedly, resembling an excited child eager to greet its beloved friend.
Bry’s father burst into laughter at the sight. He had never seen his own horse behave like this before. Despite Diamond’s usual preference for his younger brother, this excited display was unprecedented.
"This little rascal doesn’t want me to saddle him anymore and is getting picky," Bry’s dad said playfully as he led out Zen and Xavier’s fully equipped horses, ready to run outside.
