Reborn Heiress: Married To My Ex-Husband's Rival

Chapter 102 Desperate Moment

The room they stepped into was empty and quiet in the far end of the corridor. It was an unused waiting room with only two chairs and a dusty table. Moore Trevor walked in first and slowly took a seat.

Kingsley remained standing, his arms crossed around his chest, his eyes fixed on the older man with a mixture of confusion and rising tension. Raymond leaned against the wall, silent, watching the two men as he waited for the conversation to unfold.

Moore let out a slow breath. He looked tired. His shoulders were tense and there was a strange calmness on his face.

"I wasn’t always a cruel man, Kingsley," Moore began, his voice came out slow and low, like each word carried weight. "Everything I ever did, I thought I did for my family. For Jasmine. For my wife. For the Trevor name."

Kingsley’s eyes narrowed. "Then what did you do to my family?"

Moore looked up at him. His eyes didn’t blink. "The truth is ugly but you deserve to hear it. Especially now that my daughter’s life is in the line."

Kingsley didn’t move but his face was covered in a tight frown. Raymond shifted uncomfortably where he stood—knowing things were about to take a different route.

Moore continued. "A few years ago, the Trevor group started to fall apart. Poor investments. Greedy partners. A few wrong moves in international trades. Everything just started to crumble and I was desperate for a solution. I didn’t want the press to know. I didn’t want Jasmine or my wife to know. I wanted to fix it before it became a public shame."

He ran a hand down his face and looked away for a moment.
