Chapter 78 - Drink it numb
Yunfeng left the huge mansion by eight PM, followed by his entourage of three bodyguards, as usual. The jovial mood he had inside had long disappeared. His mind was in a fog as he watched the car drive through busy markets.
He silently rolled down the window and placed his head on the side, relishing the sight.
"Soon all of this is going to be destroyed... replaced by the stench of death."
It was unimaginable.
With a sigh, he closed his eyes. "I... why can’t I do anything? I was given the knowledge but not the strength to change any of this. This sucks..." He sat up straight. "Um... mister driver, can you drop me off here?"
The car slowed down. The driver glanced back at him doubtfully. "Young man, our orders were to drop you off at home safe and secure. We can’t go against that."
"But I want to do something here. It’s okay. No one is trying to harm me in any way possible, so I will be very safe." Without waiting for the driver’s answer, he quickly opened the door and walked out.
The bodyguards looked like they would follow behind him.
He quickly closed the door behind him. "I relieve you guys of your duty. Please go back home. I... I just want to spend some time alone. Please."
