Chapter 655: Masters of the Martial Arts
’...It was only the first level. I didn’t expect it to be difficult. It doesn’t matter how much the master boasts.’
Kiernan thought.
At that moment, another door opened up, and he stepped through. It was going up to the second floor.
After reaching the top, he was at the second floor and arrived at another platform with nobody in sight.
At that moment, a figure crashed down from the air. She fell on her knees on the ground. In that moment, warm, scorching flames shot out from her hands.
They turned into fiery whips.
"I am the master of the Devil Flame Style. Bow down before me, human. I have the Devil of the Flame living in my heart!"
The crimson-haired woman said.
’...She doesn’t seem like someone who is from Martial Arts World. Could it be that she is from another Realm?’
Kiernan smiled, intrigued, and very excited to try this Devil Flame Style.
[Master of the Devil Flame Style - Mistress Hanari]
A name appeared above her. The name tag was also burning. It was a fascinating sight.
[Master of the Devil Flame Style vs. Master of the Iron Style]
[FIGHT!]
Mistress Hanari caught the whip of flame. It started burning even greater. Then, she whipped it down at the gray-haired young man before him.
This flame whip had more than once burned her enemies to a crisp, but today, she was surprised to see it fizzle out harmlessly upon contact with Kiernan’s iron-clad body.
"Mastered Iron Style, Iron Human."
"What in the world...?"
Mistress Hanari whispered to herself.
"Mastered Iron Style, Krishna’s Blast!"
With a quick lunge, Kiernan crossed the distance, and he snapped his elbow to the front of him. In that moment, the elbow rammed straight into Mistress Hanari’s gut.
The elbow smashed into her gut with an audible crunch. It was like a sledgehammer had collided with her stomach.
It was more painful than an ordinary punch, as the elbow was sharp. Almost like Kiernan had been sharpening it for this exact purpose.
Mistress Hanari’s eyes rolled back to her skull.
"Mastered Iron Style, Krishna’s Back Fist!"
Without stopping, Kiernan swung his backfist at her nose. It cracked her skull. She fell to the ground, unconscious.
[GAME OVER!]
[Winner - Kiernan Hunter]
"What a disappointment."
Kiernan said, walked over the unconscious body of Mistress Hanari, and made his way to the door, which led him to the third floor.
The third floor was another platform.
Thump!
From high above, a person fell down and landed straight on top of his fist. The platform shook like a raging storm.
[Master of the One Punch Style - Poolboy]
"Hmph!"
Poolboy, with a sideways cap cocked on his head, looked over at Kiernan with a silent, bored gaze.
Unlike other masters, he wasn’t the type of man to speak much.
"One Punch Style... Does that mean I will get defeated in a one punch?"
Kiernan said in amusement.
"..."
Poolboy said nothing.
[Master of the One Punch Style vs. Master of the Iron Style]
[FIGHT!]
Poolboy made his move first. When he moved, the ground under him cracked. His right hand cracked into a fist.
It was like a whole force of nature was currently heading towards Kiernan.
"Bring it on."
Kiernan didn’t move. He didn’t put up his defenses. He simply tensed up his muscles and steeled his body for the collision with Poolboy’s fist.
"Mastered Iron Style, Iron Human!"
"One Punch!"
Poolboy screamed and punched Kiernan in the chest, right above the heart. The fist and flesh clashed.
However, it more sounded like fist came in contact with an iron wall. It was a very interesting-sounding interaction.
Crack!
At that moment, Poolboy’s fist broke. The wrist shattered. Bones were poking out. Poolboy’s inhumane screeches of pain followed.
He dropped down to the ground, clutching his fist, and Kiernan towered over him with a disappointed look on his face.
[GAME OVER!]
[Winner - Kiernan Hunter]
"Sigh..."
With a chuckle, Kiernan shook his head and made his way to the door. He quickly arrived at the fourth floor, and this time around, his opponent was already waiting there.
[Master of the Mirroring Style - Copymaster]
"I copy. I learn. I concur. I overcome. I win."
Copymaster said his mantra, and then, with his yellow robe flowing behind him, he stepped forward with his hands behind his back.
"You will try to copy me? How interesting."
Kiernan said.
[Master of the Mirroring Style vs. Master of the Iron Style]
[FIGHT!]
"Mastered Iron Style, Iron Smash!"
Kiernan brought his fist forward. A perfect technique. Copymaster copied the technique immediately down to the bone and sent his own fist forward, mirroring Kiernan’s move exactly.
The two fists clashed at the middle of the platform.
Crack!
In that moment, Copymaster’s hand shattered as Kiernan’s Iron Smash went through his weak fist and then landed in his chest.
Iron Smash destroyed Copymaster’s hand and chest, incapacitating him instantly. Foam poured out of his mouth as he fell unconscious.
"You can copy, but you cannot copy my body. To do Iron Smash with a body that was not suited for it is the same as suicide."
Kiernan said, and then he made his way to the fifth floor. His opponent was meditating on the platform ground.
[Master of the Taekwondo Style - Lee Park]
"Hey... I know you. I met you once back on Earth, didn’t I? You died like thirty years ago, didn’t you, Lee?"
Kiernan said with a smile.
"...K-Kiernan?"
Lee Park’s jaw dropped all the way down to his chest, and he immediately turned away, running off the edge of the platform.
"Get me the fuck away from this monster!"
His screams echoed into the distance as he fell far down and crashed in a heap at the bottom of the chasm.
"Mm~ I sure made him scared back in the day."
Kiernan said with a chuckle.
[GAME OVER!]
[Winner - Kiernan Hunter]
At that moment, as he scratched his head, he looked around, and then, he noticed a merchant standing over at the corner of the platform.
It wasn’t there just a moment ago, but after Lee Park’s defeat, the merchant appeared from nothingness.
’...This is the reason I came here. I wonder what they have to offer.’
