My Ex-Husband Begged Me to Take Him Back

Chapter 279: The hesitation and desire

Ava’s lips parted to respond, but his kiss silenced her. This time it was slow, deliberate, and filled with unspoken words. His hands slid to her waist, pulling her closer as he savored the feel of her against him.

Their kisses grew deeper, an uncontrollable fire sparking between them, melting away every hesitation. Dylan forgot the dull ache in his back, the frailty of his legs—none of it mattered now. His world narrowed to Ava, focusing only on the way she molded against him, her fingers threading through his hair.

She eased him toward the bed, her hands steady as they worked to remove his shirt. Her gaze traced his form—his sharp jawline, the broad expanse of his chest, the taut muscles of his abdomen. But as her eyes drifted lower to his legs, worry clouded her expression. The intensity in her faltered.

"We shouldn’t..."

He reached for her hands, clasping them firmly. "Ava," he interrupted her. "These past days, all I’ve done is rest. But the one thing I’ve been aching for—truly missing—is you. Please, trust me. I want this. I want you."

She opened her mouth to protest, but his hands skimmed up her sides, leaving a trail of heat in their wake. "Let me show you," he whispered, pressing a kiss to her palm. "I need this, Ava. I need you."

Ava melted against him, her breath hitching as he cradled her in his arms. His fingers traced slow, deliberate patterns down her spine, sending shivers across her skin. Their lips met again, the kiss deepening into something more urgent, more consuming.

Her worries evaporated. Her shyness and hesitation had disappeared as well. She pushed him onto the bed, looking at him boldly.

Dylan groaned softly, her confidence awakening something primal in him. She hovered above him, her eyes dark with desire, a sultry smile playing at her lips.
