Chapter 276: You’re still lying to me.
As soon as they stepped out of the room, Lydia halted abruptly, spinning on her heel to face Erica. Her eyes were blazing, and her voice was a sharp hiss of frustration. "What did I tell you? Stay calm. Do you realize how suspicious you looked in there? Dylan is no fool—your behavior has definitely raised doubts in his mind. What were you thinking?"
"It’s Gianna," Erica revealed, holding out her phone and showing Lydia the message she had just received. "She is the one who attacked Dylan and Ava."
Lydia’s mouth set in a grim line as she read the message. She didn’t say anything, but her serious look made Erica even more nervous.
"She called me last night," Erica blurted. "I didn’t answer because I thought she just wanted more money from me. I didn’t think she’d go this far!"
Lydia’s ace twisted in a mixture of fury and disdain. "You absolute fool. Come with me."
Holding her arm tightly, she dragged her away. Erica stumbled, struggling to keep up as Lydia dragged her down the corridor with purposeful strides.
"Slow down," Erica hissed. "I’m coming."
But Lydia didn’t listen to her. She continued pulling her away forcefully.
Ava stepped out of the doctor’s office, her thoughts occupied with Dylan’s recovery when she caught sight of Lydia and Erica hurrying away. Their tense expressions and hurried steps made her pause, a frown creasing her brow.
"What’s going on with those two?" Her curiosity piqued as she watched them disappear from her line of sight.
Down in the parking area, Lydia flung open the car door and shoved Erica inside with surprising force.
